The singer on the cd now playing sounds like a young Leonard Cohen. They play cd's here, not the radio. When I've been here in the past they've played John Lennon, David Bowie, etc. They have chess sets here to lend out also. And there's a couple of independent cinemas on the same street. ![]() It's not a big place, and can get crowded. There is some food
here, but they don't depend on the lunch crowd enough to set
the tables, and I am safe to sit though the lunch rush with only
my empty espresso cup. The decor is dark, lots of black. Black
tables and black wooden chairs. The bar counter is black and
there are faded black and white movie photos on the black overhang
above the bar. My coffee cup says "KIMBO" in red and
has a thin gold ring around the top. There was a packet of sugar
cubes. The ashtray is clear glass. Little theatrical lights are
mounted on girders that stretch across the ceiling like the whole
place is a stage set. I don't know who is singing on the stereo,
but a few phrases of the current song stick in my ears: "memories
of your kiss...thinking of you...possible things I could be...wish
you could see." |
