It seems very hot these days (probably because it is hot, and I walk around an awful lot), and so I've been ordering a glass of water with my espresso which the servers seem quite happy to supply. It would probably help to drink something cooler than an espresso as well, but I feel as though I'm on a roll. I've never done something every day for a year, and it seems drinkng an espresso is as good as anything. I can't imagine it will stay this hot too much longer anyway. Maybe the month of August, but not much more than that.
I got sugar cubes with my espresso. The glass of water has the words "Coreff Bier Montronley" and the image of a dancing lion frosted onto the glass. There is an enormous skyscraper, the Montparnasse Tower, in front of me. But it's very quiet here, and trees line the little street that edges the café. A good choice for a Sunday afternoon, I think. The front of the café is open and a breeze blows in, reversing the effects of the hot drink I've just imbibed.
