L'Atlantique
September 7, 2002 - midnight
Open late, which is always a good thing. Through the window
I can see the giant clock on the outside of the Montparnasse
train station; it's just a lit up circle with long narrow hour
and minute triangles and twelve dots for the hours.
This place is fairly big and fairly busy. The tables are square,
wood-edged with fake wood in the center, and the adjacent one
has a lit candle inside a rose-colored glass candle holder. My
espresso came with a maroon tube of powdered sugar. The wooden
chairs are all stained red.
