Le Pavillon

July 4, 2002 - 11:30 a.m.

The problem with this place is that the table feet prevent me from putting my feet anywhere. Normally I think my feet would go on either side of the metal bars that secure the table's hold on the floor, but the window and the table just beside mine make that an impossibility. So my choice is to either rest my feet on top of the curved metal bars, or constrain them within the little space in between, or do what I'm doing, putting one foot in the middle of the space under my table and one foot under the next table. I guess I shouldn't have a problem with my feet being less than six inches apart, but my feet like to wander around a bit while I sit without bumping into metal bars or other feet.

My cup and saucer are painted with flowers -- the cup is very wide. The sugar is in a blue tube -- blue is the color of choice for sugar tubes, it seems. There is some road rage going on outside; a man with a white truck has gotten out to chastise the driver in front of him at close range. After some furious arm movements he gets back in his truck, the light quickly changes to green, and the two vehicles speed off down the street.
