This is a coincidence. I did not even think about the name when I walked in and sat down, but here I am on 9/12 in the Café 912. Of course, in Europe the coincidence doesn't exist because today's date is 12/9, but I'm American so I'll take it.
I started my sojourn here in one of the softest, most comfortable chairs I have ever been in. I have since moved to a more regular, public school-type chair in order to be able to write, but I recommend getting here early to grab one of the comfy chairs available. The place is nicely lit by plaid cylindrical lights hanging from the ceiling, and there are lit candles sitting in red candle holders in the ashtrays.
My espresso came with a blue tube of powdered sugar. The place is a bit over-staffed, so the service is prompt -- there's even a hostess. I came here once with a couple of friends and we were relegated to an empty and unappealing back room, so we left. Maybe our timing was off (we were only getting drinks), or maybe we didn't look like we belonged in the front room of such a hip establishment, but it does have a great atmosphere.
