"How did your grandparents meet?"

1. My maternal grandmother met her first husband at a dance when she was a teenager and they got married without her parents' approval. They had six kids and he never had a job and he fooled around on her all the time and one time she didn't take him back, she said "because it was cheaper living without him." She met her second husband working as a waitress at the Truck Haven. She made him show her his divorce papers before she would go out with him because, she said, a lot of truckers say they're seperated from their wives and that just means they're on the road and their wives are home with the kids. He was about 20 years older than she was. They saw "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof" on their first date.
